 How is the work of an archaeologist and a historian similar to that of a detective ?

Archaeologist is a person who study about the ancient times and the discoveries that was made in past and give full knowledge about them. Detective is a person which is hired by government or some other person to inspect the victim all actions. No the work of an archeologist is not similar to the work of detective.
