Question 21. Asked on :07 October 2019:11:52:45 AM

Zinc liberates hydrogen gas when reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid, whereas copper does not. Explain why?

-Added by Himanshi Verma Science » Chemical Reaction And Equation

Answer:

Master Purushottam
Zinc liberates hydrogen gas when reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid whereas copper does not because it depends on the reactivity of metal to get the hydrogen gas as the product with dilute acid.  But same reaction does not occur with copper metal because copper is less reactive than hydrogen
