Thus, using wood as a fuel causes deforestation. Therefore, slowly wood is replaced by LPG, which is a liquefied form of petroleum gas. It does not give out smoke and other pollutants and is a cleaner fuel. Again, fuel efficiency of LPG is more than that of wood.

Can the process of rusting be called combustion? ... The process of rusting cannot be called combustion because in this process no heat and light is produced. Due to this reason iron is not considered as combustible substance.

  As David Curran correctly stated in his answer, charcoal can produce a flamewhen burning. However, charcoal frequently exhibits a non-flaming type ofcombustion. This is because flames only occur when combustion is occurring in the gas phase, (or if the combustion reaction is producing gas.)
