Principle of electric motor:

An electric motor works on the principle that a current carrying conductor experiences a force when placed in a magnetic field. If the direction of the magnetic field and that of the direction of a current which pass through the magnetic field are mutually perpendicular then the direction of the force is given by Fleming's left-hand rule. Electric motor convert the electrical energy to mechanical energy.
