Question 1. Asked on :10 September 2019:10:26:44 AM

Why are the coils of electric toaster made of an alloy rather than a pure metal?

-Added by Himanshi Verma Science » Magnetic Effects Of Electricity

Answer:

Akki chauhan
Alloys have higher resistivity and do not oxidise or burn readily at high tempratures.

Question 2. Asked on :20 August 2019:08:08:50 AM

What does the pattern of magnetic field around a conductor due to an electric current flowing through it and a solenoid depend?

-Added by Akki chauhan Science » Magnetic Effects Of Electricity

Answer:

Akki chauhan

The pattern of the magnetic field around a conductor due to an electric current flowing through it depends on the shape of the conductor. the magnetic field of solenoid carrying a current with similar to that of a bar magnet.

Question 3. Asked on :20 August 2019:08:07:52 AM

What do the field line represents?

-Added by Akki chauhan Science » Magnetic Effects Of Electricity

Answer:

Akki chauhan

Field line are used to represent a magnetic field. A field line is the path  along which a hypothetical free north pole would tend to move. the direction of the magnetic field at a point is given by direction that in North Pole placed at the at point would take. field line are shown closer together where the magnetic field is Greater.

Question 10. Asked on :18 July 2019:07:04:16 PM

What is the Right Hand Thumb Rule ?

-Added by Shalu Shukla Physics » Magnetic Effects Of Electricity

Answer:

Himanshi Verma

If you holding current carrying conductor in your right hand such that the thumb points towards the direction of current then fingers will show the direction of current. This is known as the Right hand thumb rule.

Question 11. Asked on :07 January 2019:10:41:52 AM

 What is joule's heat law?

-Added by ATP Admin Science » Magnetic Effects Of Electricity

Answer:

Akki chauhan

The joule's law of heating implies that heat produced in a resistor is

(i) directly proportional to the square of current for a given resistance,

(ii) directly proportional to resistance for a given current, and

(iii) directly proportional to the time for which the current flows through the resistor.

This law is known as joule's law of heating.
