 Why do we dissolve oleic acid in alcohal?

 Oleic acid is soluble in alcohal and diluting it with alcohal will replace it's concentration consequently it will helps to form a very thin (almost the molecular thickness) get formed and we can measure it's thickness by calculating volume.
