1. No, fixed position can be given to hydrogen in the Mendeleev's classification.
2. There are no any place for isotopes.

What is Newland's Law of Octaves and what is its limitation?

Every eighth element had properties similar to that of that first this law is known as Newland's Law of Octaves. Limitations of law of octaves: The law of octaveshas the following limitations ; (A) The law of octaves was found to be applicable only upto calcium. (B)It was not applicable to elements of higher atomic masses. (C) Newlands placed two elements in the same slot to fit elements in the table.
